Registration is open for the National Community Pharmacists Association's 2023 Congressional Pharmacy Fly-In, taking place April 26-27 in Alexandria, Va., and Washington, D.C. Just last week, Kentucky Congressman James Comer announced that as Chair of the House Oversight and Accountability Committee, he is launching an investigation into harmful PBM practices impacting Federal programs. KPhA is urging Kentucky's independent pharmacists to participate in this year's Fly-In.
Through the NCPA Congressional Pharmacy Fly-In, community pharmacists will be able to talk with policymakers about the important role independent pharmacies play in their communities, the many ways that pharmacy teams help patients, and the challenges facing the industry. In addition to helping foster existing relationships, it's an opportunity to build rapport with those new to Congress who are now making decisions central to the future of pharmacy.
Before heading to Capitol Hill, NCPA staff will update attendees on the congressional agenda for 2023 and the association's ongoing advocacy efforts, which include working to stop unfair practices of pharmacy benefit managers and protecting and expanding patient access to community pharmacy services.
