Emergency Protocol Regulation Ruled Deficient

What You Need to Know:

The Administration Regulation Review Subcommittee met this morning at 8:00 AM to review 201 KAR 2:380e and ruled the regulation deficient. Effectively immediately, pharmacies are no longer authorized to initiate the dispensing of Paxlovid via Board of Pharmacy approved protocol. This does not impact pharmacists that are prescribing Paxlovid in accordance with the provisions under the PREP Act. More information is forthcoming from the Department of Medicaid Services and the Board of Pharmacy regarding the matter.

All other Board of Pharmacy-approved protocols remain in effect at this time.
