The Kentucky Pharmacy Education & Research Foundation (KPERF) is the tax-exempt charitable foundation formed by the Kentucky Pharmacists Association.
Originally incorporated in Kentucky in 1980, KPERF has promoted pharmacy education programs across the state for more than 25 years. Also, the foundation supports research projects in the fields of pharmacy, career counseling, student assistance, post-graduate education, continuing and professional education, and public health education and assistance.
Most pharmacists in Kentucky know KPERF as the organization that accredits local continuing education (CE) programs or that provides the monthly CE articles in KPHA's membership magazines and newsletters. However, KPERF also organizes CE sessions for KPhA's annual convention, as well as special workshops such as the immunization training programs.
Through the years, KPERF has consistently received Accreditation Provider status from the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE). This approval allows KPERF to confer accreditation status on CE programs so that both in-state and out-of-state pharmacists can earn CE credits for these programs. More than a dozen different groups in Kentucky rely on KPERF to secure ACPE accreditation for their local events and seminars.
