In an effort to promote the safe use of prescription drugs, the Kentucky Pharmacists Association, the Kentucky Education and Research Foundation, Elected Officials, and more than 100 Pharmacies statewide are participating in educational and public awareness campaign to promote the safe use of prescription drugs. This campaign began on January 30, 2008. The initiative is designed to help prevent an accidental injury, stop possible theft, misuse or abuse of prescription medicines. In addition, the program focuses on preserving access for patients who legitimately need prescription drugs to treat pain, illness and disease.
